To the people that have lived here a long time it’s remembered as a cow town with mostly ranchers and farmers. But times have changed, and nowadays , it is no longer the old cow town of decades past. Lincoln does have the older downtown area and also modern shopping areas as well. Lincoln is where you can get the most bang for your buck for real estate.
There’s the older area of Lincoln, the Lincoln Crossing area, Twelve Bridges and the popular retirement community of Sun City Lincoln Hills; a lovely retirement community complete with golf course, amazing club houses, restaurants, baseball diamonds, a fishing pond and just about anything else you could dream of for a retirement community! There are over 4000 homes in the community.
One of the biggest problems people had about living in Lincoln was the commute since the main Hwy 65 went right through the old town of Lincoln, this has changed for the better since the Hwy 65 bypass opened in October of 2012, it’s made a big difference for commuters and I believe will boost the downtown activity for businesses.
The closest urban area is the State Capital City of Sacramento and within an hour drive from Newcastle, Granite Bay, Auburn, Loomis and Penryn.
