This is the area with the desirable zip code; urban and rural living at its best! Folsom Lake State Park is in Granite Bay with two different beach entrances, one at the end of Douglas Blvd and the other off Folsom Auburn Road at Beale’s Point. This is a great recreation area with boating, fishing, horseback riding, beaches for swimming, mountain bike trails, running trails and areas to ride your road bike. There are a variety of different events held at Folsom Lake.
If you’re into horses there are many boarding stables and training facilities in the area.
Granite Bay is a mix of older homes in sub-divisions, homes on land and more modern sub-divisions. There are gated communities and communities with access to Folsom Lake, there are neighborhoods that cater to horses and neighborhoods with large custom homes, it’s a real mix.
There’s not much for shopping in Granite Bay; the local Raley’s and Ace Hardware seem to be the biggest. There are smaller shops in Quarry Ponds – a small boutique shopping center and the local Pete’s Coffee is there which is a great place to hang, drink your coffee and read or socialize.
Granite Bay is not the optimal place to live if you need to get to the freeway for commuting as it can take up to ½ an hour just to get to the freeway. Properties tend to be priced the highest in this area.
